The innkeeper is a much overlooked part of the nativity story, but one that holds an eternal truth. Imagine this person was you. Business is booming with the royal decree for everyone to return to the town of their birth to take part in the census. You have people crammed in every room, including the lobby. Blankets are all over the floor as displaced travellers are trying to get as much sleep as possible given the circumstances.
All of the sudden, just as you’re about to head off to bed, a knock comes at the front door. Knowing what the person on the other side is going to ask, you prepare yourself for a short, abrupt “NO VACANCY” remark. As you crack the door and peek out, to your suprise, you see a young woman who is very pregnant. The desparation on their face tell their story in a way that words never could. You can tell they’re tired and nervous as the young lady appears to be in labor.
You try to explain that all your “paying customers” have taken up every possible place in the inn. Realizing the need for warmth, you say “How about the barn? It’s not much, but it’s all I have to offer.”
God was able to take the little of what the innkeeper had, and turn it into the most miraculous thing to ever physically happen on the Earth. It wasn’t much, but it was enough. You and I may not have much to offer the King of Kings, but its enough. He’ll take it and perform the miraculous!
What can you offer him today?

Awesome observation, buddy.
