About

I am the Assistant Principal at Shoals Jr-Sr High School and an imperfect preacher with 13 years experience in the local mission field. The greatest times for me are with my wife, Marilyn, and our three amazing kids, Josiah, Myah, and Micah.

This is my personal blog. It is focused on “leading generational thinkers”.  It is my belief that our most creative ideas are yet to be tapped into. God has given us the Bible as the source of eternal truth and wisdom. This, combined with the discipline of older generations and the fresh perspective of younger generations, produces a generational thinker. It is someone who lives today to prepare others for tomorrow’s challenges

I write on education, leadership, productivity, and theology. I will occasionally write about helpful life lessons as I experience them.

My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can put to work in your personal and professional life. If you are involved in education–as a student, educator, or parent–, a leader–or aspiring to be–, or trying to grow in Christ, then this blog is for you.

I typically post two to three times a week.

MY BIOGRAPHY

I have worked in public education for six years as a social studies teacher for grades 7 through 12. I’m licensed to teach all areas of social studies in the state of Indiana. While teaching, I received awards as Oakland City University’s Student Teacher of the Year and the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s Outstanding Future Educator Award. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Principal at Shoals Jr-Sr High School.

I have preached for the past thirteen years, visiting dozens of churches in southern Indiana. I have served as a youth pastor, assistant pastor, and senior pastor. The church that my family and I currently attend is The Church at Powell Valley.  If you would like to discuss having me speak for your church or group, contact me and we’ll see what we can work out.

I have been married to my wife, Marilyn, for seven years. We have two sons and one daughter together. We live 1 1/2 hours north of Evansville, IN. In my free time, I like coon and rabbit hunting, fishing, lifting, reading, and spending time with my family.
